Reflection on ICT as Situating Tool

When I first went through the notes on ICT as situating tool, I could not comprehend it. I did a self reading without help from any friends or tutor. But after resuming the college, our module tutor took us through this topic and from his explanation, I am now fully convinced about what is mean by ICT as situating tool and the implication of this tool.

Benefits from learning and using situating tool:

Learning about Situating tools and using tools like Google map, Graph cal and simulation benefited me so much.

1. I knew that we can get access to google map if we have google account

2. With google map, I learnt to locate the places, latitude and longitude of the place

3. I got an idea that as a teacher, I can use ICT to situate my students in the environment

4. This knowledge benefited me to teach and learn abstract ideas with the use of simulation

5. learning about this tool helped me to look for content related simulations, which is very constructive

    and beneficial for me as a learner and a future educator.

Now, with the knowledge on situating tool, I can incorporate the situating tools in my every day life because the use of situating tools make our task easier and convenient as it help us to know the situation around the world. For example: use of google map help us to calculate time in different places around the globe. Here, Its making me convenient because, If I have someone staying in Australia, I can now calculate the time and check when it is best time for both of to call each other. I realized that this knowledge will help me reduce misunderstanding.

From all the situating tools that we used in our classroom, I feel that the lesson on Google Classroom is very enriching and important to me. This will help me to conduct online classes with my students in the future.
