Reflection on Zoom meeting as Communicative Tool

Face to face teaching and learning could not take place since first week of March because of the outbreak of Covid19 in our country. Thus, we had to use alternative means for the teaching and learning to happen. One of the alternatives we used was using zoom meet to have video conference with our tutor. To take part in zoom meeting and listen to what tutors and classmates discuss, I have to be online when other participants are online.

Zoom meeting is interesting but the weak internet connectivity and lack of some android features in my phone restricts me from using it. However, I always try to part part in meeting.

Since its my first time using and knowing about zoom meet, l learnt  a

lot by using it:

1. I knew how to join the meeting

2. I knew that presentations can be done using this tool

3. I Learnt how to do the presentation

4. I learnt how to put on /off the webcam and speaker

5. I knew that zoom presentations can be recorded.

All the above points are new learning for me and I feel that this knowledge is very essential for me as a teacher. One thing I liked about using this tool is that it has a feature where  we can record the discussion and use it for future reference or for those who did not attent the meeting.

In the photo below, you will see our tutor presenting the feedback of our reflection writing and he is also recording the presentation. Our webcams and some microphones are on so that we can see, hear and talk during discussion.
